I'm constantly looking for natural beauty solutions and different ways to use natural remedies in my everyday beauty routine. One product that I can't live without is coconut oil. It smells good, it's cheap and the number of benefits that come from this can is insane! From cooking to beauty, there's nothing coconut oil can't be used for.

All of the products that will be listed are what I like to use that are similar to using coconut oil. You can use it on it's own or add it to common household items to create your own beauty products. The best part about it? It can substitute 5 different beauty products! This container pictured costs about $4.99. I'll show you exactly why it's worth making the switch- for the health benefits and the financial benefit!

When removing my makeup, usually I'll use a face wash or a makeup wipe but I've found that it dries out my skin and makes my eyelashes feel weak and brittle. I read somewhere that coconut oil could actually remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner, so I decided to try it. I like how soft and hydrated my eye area felt after I used it, so I thought I'd give removing my face makeup a try, too. Most people may get freaked out at the idea of rubbing an oil all over your face because they think it will cause acne or clogged pores. But, I've been doing this for about a month now and I've had no breakouts, an improved skin texture, and my under eye fine lines have minimized (keep reading to see why!). I follow this with my usual cleanser, toner, and moisturizer routine. Just make sure to remove all of the oil and you'll love how your skin feels! Compare it to: Dermalogica PreCleanse at $55.00

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with keeping my teeth white. I used Crest whitestrips for like two years, until I couldn't eat or drink anything that was too hot or too cold. I knew that the whitening was causing me issues, so I had to find an alternative way to keep my pearly whites. I had started doing some research and one thing that people said worked for them was oil pulling. For those of you who've never heard of it, it's an ancient dental technique- also called "kavala" or "gundusha." You take a tablespoon of melted coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. I usually do this while I'm in the shower- it makes 15-20 minutes go by faster because getting used to the texture of this in your mouth can be hard at first. What this is designed to do is naturally draw toxins out of your body and mouth (I know it sounds crazy- but trust me it works!). It works to improve not only your oral health, but your overall health. It fights gingivitis, plaque and some even say hangovers! I can honestly say I haven't used a whitestrip in probably a year. People comment on how white my teeth are all the time! And not to mention, now I have absolutely no sensitivity and no cavities. I'm telling you this is my absolute favourite beauty routine! (Although I will say it has yet to fight one of my!) Compare it to: Crest 3D White Whitestrips 1 hr Express at $54.99

After my shower I'll apply coconut oil on my lashes and underneath my eyes. I do this because it's light enough for the delicate skin under the eyes the fatty acids help target fine lines and wrinkles. The coconut oil also hydrates my lashes and keeps them strong for when I wear fake lashes or mascara. Compare it to: Clinique All About Eyes at $64.00

It hydrates the lips and it's perfect because it's semi solid at room temperature. I find that on the lips it feels really similar to Nivea lip balm- which is one of my favourite products. You can add a some into a small container to keep in your purse and add a little bit of lip tint to the oil for a natural look that will keep your pout soft all day. Compare it to: Nivea Kiss of Moisture at $3.49

I love to make my own body scrubs using coconut oil. One I really like is coffee grinds, brown sugar and coconut oil- it smells equally as yummy as a sugar scrub and it even tastes good! But it also leaves the skin feeling so smooth and soft. You won't even need to apply moisturizer after you're done, but if you want some added moisture- coconut oil! It also works as a lotion. Warm the oil up in your hands and apply to freshly shaved legs, areas with stretch marks or on dry elbows and knees. Keep in mind, a little goes a long way! Compare it to: LaLicious Whipped Sugar Kiss Sugar Body Scrub at $35.00

Products listed vs. buying coconut oil = total saving of $212.48!
